Asian Scienc Camp - Closest Chance to Japan ever,But Fail.

Following successful camps at Taipei(2006) and Bali(2007) , the 3th Asian Science Camp will be held August 2nd - 8th in Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan. There are about 200 outstanding science- orientated students, who will be selected from high schools (final year or twelfth grade) and colleges in and around the Asian region will be attend to ASC 2009.The main subjects that will be talk about in ASC2009 are physics and chemistry.A majority of Nobel lectures in physics and chemistry area had been invited to ASC 2009 too.They are:

Ok,fine,turn back to my story.No doubt,I am extremely interesting to attend to the ASC 2009.There is not only a life-changing opportunity can be expected and it also the best chance that I can have a trip to Japan.Hence,I started to contact to the person who handling to do the selection of students for represent Malaysia to ASC 2009,Prof Dato' Dr Mohd Jamil Maah.Then,I also starting prepared the material that needed such as resume,teacher's recommendation and others.After all, I was exciting and waiting for his reply.

Just few days ago,closer to the deadline for apply to the ASC 2009,Prof Dato' Dr Mohd Jamil Maah had replied me that I had already into the short-list which properly will get the chance participate to ASC2009.Hoping and wishing,wishing and hoping,the final result had been announced at 13 April.It was his reply:

"We have to consider the seniors first as their chances to be chosen again are getting slimmer and you still have ample time to be chosen again. It is very sorry to inform that you are not listed this time and this would not discourage you to apply for the coming ASCs."

I stuck all of a sudden.I knew that I had failed in applying to ASC 2009.It was really a sad time.However,It was a great experience too.I had learnt about how to perpared a resume and streagthen a lot my english during the perparation.Otherwise,thanks a lot to my physics teacher,Lim Tian Loong,and his wife,Madam Dai who is my English teacher as well.They were really giving a lot of support to my application.Ok,my aim is turn to MICSS again,wish will have all the best time at there and got the chance to Taiwan for WCS Science Camp.

Stanford publish free iPhone course on iTunes

Apple bought 100 million 8Gb NAND flash chips from Samsung!

100 million 8Gb NAND flash chips?Yes, that's true.This news was reported by the DigiTimes just few days ago.According to DigiTimes, this order will effect a lot to the NAND flash chips market and soar up the NAND flash chips price all of a sudden.

"Apple has reportedly placed orders for 100 million 8Gb NAND flash chips mostly with Samsung Electronics, which is likely to cause a supply shortage, according to sources at downstream suppliers. Nokia and Sony recently also began building their NAND flash inventories, further tightening supply, the sources added."

Whatever, back to the topic, why Apple would do a big deal such like this?Seem like a next generation large storage iPhone or iPod can be expected to reveal soon at the upcoming WWDC 2009.

Good Bye - Microsoft Encarta

Microsoft Encarta-a rarely Microsoft's product that we had heard for.Actually,Microsoft Encarta is a digital multimedia encyclopedia published by Microsoft Corporation starting on 1993.It has its famous time too,before the Wikipedia had been revealed on the internet,Microsoft Encarta was the most practical tool to everyone find some reference and information.

But now,after the Wikipedia had been revealed,which is the more convenient and more powerful web encyclopedia than Microsoft Encarta,the market of the Microsoft Encarta had became smaller and smaller.Last, just few days ago, Microsoft finally announced it was discontinuing the Encarta disc and online versions.Let's us say good bye to it!

Apple Macbook Mini - April Fools' Day?

It is not surprised that the rumors about what new product will the Apple reveal on the upcoming WWDC 2009 were starting spreading again.How about this time?They were looking for a tiny sub-notebook will be released by the Apple - Macbook Mini.Netbook?It is actually not the first time that the Apple Fans talking about the Apple netbook,but why again?The answer is here:

Right,it is a screenshot captured from one of the Russia's computer magazine.It is obviously contents with all the Russian words,but it is not important-look at the only picture at there.Apple Macbook Mini,from that picture,it's seem like a smaller and thinner edition Macbook Air.According to the rumor,the Apple Macbook Mini will come with Intel Atom z740 1.83Ghz、2GB DDR3 800、64GB SSD、Nvidia mcp79 533Mhz、10.4 inch (1280 X768) LCD Screen and also Bluetooth,USB,Wifi functions as well.

NEC Computers - Become History Soon

The nowadays tough economic environment made a majority of companies closed their doors,stopped their sales,NEC Computers will be the next one soon.

Last week,the company claimed that NEC Computers will merely step by step withdraw from the international PC market from now untill July 2009.Obviously,NEC Computers will be disappear after July 2009 and we can't have the chance to buy any NEC Computers PC product on the market too.

The date of WWDC 2009 announced today!

Just according to the Apple offical website , the date of the annually Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2009 (WWDC 2009) had been confirmed and finally announced today.
Same with the picture,WWDC 2009 will be hold on at the same place with last year-San Francisco,during June 8~12.No doubt,the theme of WWDC 2009 mostly will be talk around the Apple next generation OS - MacOS X 10.6 Show Leopard and iPhone 3.0.I think it will be surely come out a lot of rumors about them in the coming days after this announcement.Is possible that Steve Jobs will come back to the stage for his show?Let's looking torward to it!

MIT Admissions Talk - My Very Own KL Trip

During the school holidays,I had found out that there would be held on a Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT)-One of the greatest university in the world,its undergraduate admissions talk at KL from the newspaper.This talk had been held by MIT Club of Malaysia,due to introduce the instruction of apply to study at MIT for all the Malaysia students who got the interest to study at there.No doubt,I determined on attend to this talk.(MIT is actually the top rank in my dreamy school list)

I tried to find some friends to accompany me,but it was totally failed.Thus,it was became my own trip exactly-the only one person trip.I started my trip by taking the train at 4.05pm friday.After about a five hours journey,I was finally arrived to the KL Central:

After that,I contacted to my cousin who had lived at KL due to find out a place to have a rest.
Next day morning,I waked up early and took leave of my cousin.I went to the "Royal Selangor Golf Club"where the place that admissions talk would be held on by taxi.

When I arrived there,the talk was just started.I quickly found out a sit and listened it quietly.

It was a great talk.It talked about the school life in MIT,the details of the application and how a student can improve his chances to study in MIT.As expected,it was a hard job for the MIT admission.Basically,the application requirements are:
Part1: Biographical information
Part2: Tests,activities and essays
Two teacher evaluations
Secondary school report
Financial and materials
Interview
But it is definitely not easy to prepared that.Beside tests(Actually the tests result is the most important part,but I think every students who decided to apply to MIT will work hard to get closer to the FULL MARK in their SAT I,II and Toefl tests.),MIT need geek.Why I call them geek?Because almost all students who had been succeed admited to the MIT have a splendid extracurricular activities during the secondary school.How they did that?Example,they mostly were a leader in some school club and at least won a national or international award in science area.

As conclusion,MIT is a place for a group of genius to explore their life.This talk was made a great inspiration to me.What a amazing life is over there!I must work hard to improve everything on myself,especially my english == Just let it be,go ahead,don't be fear!

iPhone 3.0 - A revolution to iPhone again

Just one day past,Apple had announced their new iPhone System-iPhone OS 3.0, a big update since the last 2.0 version.Apparently,it will be a great news to the iPhone users.

Well,what had been Apple done for the new iPhone 3.0?Just for some security update?Or a regretful update for all the iPhone users?I think Apple is obviously doesn't think to do that so.Let's check out what had the iPhone system change now.

As conclusion,there had eight most important change that Apple done in iPhone 3.0.
1)The MacOS's search engine-Spotlight is completely move to iPhone now.iPhone users can just search what the file they needed as fast as like search a mail on GMail.
2)Support to the Bluetooth A2DP and the P2P transfer data function.
3)SMS on the iPhone finally can be direct forward and delete one on one.(Just a simple function that mostly mobile phone can do that,why iPhone need wait to the 3.0 version?)
4)More horizontal showing function support.Many iPhone program can be using in the horizontal in iPhone 3.0.
5)Cut,Copy and Paste.After one year and one year expectation,finally reveal this very very common function on the iPhone now.
6)Undo function.What an another silly common function finally been update now.
7)MMS support.Nothing to say,I think even the lowest mobile phone can do that too a period of time.
8)Note sync function.iPhone users can easily sync their subscriptions on iPhone with their Mac.

As a result,iPhone 3.0 finally succeed changed out many common function that many iPhone users waiting for.Such as MMS,copy and paste,sms forward function.iPhone 3.0 already start testing now,iPhone Programmer can download its beta version today and the final released version will be reveal on this summer.
