Voyager 1 made its closest approach to Jupiter in March 1979, coming to within about 217,000 miles of the planet's center and making detailed observations of Jupiter's moons. During its flyby of Saturn in November 1980, the spacecraft's cameras and remote sensing instruments revealed stunning images and information about Saturn's rings and atmosphere, as well as its giant moon Titan. In early 1990, Voyager 1 captured the now-famous image known as "Pale Blue Dot." As the spacecraft was on its way out of the solar system, astronomer Carl Sagan commanded it to turn its camera and take a picture of planet Earth dangling in the vastness of space.
By early 2005, Voyager 1 was about 94 times farther from the Sun than Earth is. Within the next five years, the spacecraft will enter interstellar space, where it will study the boundaries of the solar system, including the Kuiper Belt. Long-life nuclear batteries are expected to power Voyager 1 until at least 2020, when it will be more than 13 billion miles from Earth.Voyager 2, which completed observations of Uranus and Neptune in addition to Saturn and Jupiter, reached its 12,000-day milestone on June 28. The two space probes are the most distant human-made objects in the universe.

Our own Team HDC of APIIT- UCTI are currently in the running to win top honors and cash prizes worth thousands of Ringgit after being chosen as one of the grand finalist in Software Design category of the annual Microsoft-sponsored Imagine Cup 2010 Finals in Warsaw, Poland.
They were not alone though as other Malaysian teams that accompanied them to Warsaw have also been doing quite well in a number of Imagine Cup-related events. One of them is Team Hypo of TAR College who has managed to secure 3rd place in Windows Phone 7 “Rockstar” Award while another one, Team TEC4Life of USM is one of the six finalist of the Envisioning 2020 Award.
Team HDC will be presenting creation - a health and dietary application called Project Apple - for the last time this coming Thursday, in front of a live audience at Warsaw Opera House which will determine their final standings at the event. I would like to wish them good luck and all the best! Really desire to be one of them! I will strive for it next year! Imagine Cup 2010, wait for me!! :D

The iPhone 4 was released into the grubby hands of Apple fanboys and girls in the selected countries today amidst long lines and clapping and cheering Apple Store staff. While it's not available here and we would have loved to give you a series of gadget-pornesque unboxing photos, these guys do it better anyway.
Well it's not all fun and games for the people who spent hours lining up for one of these phones, as launch day was marred by a few problems. Remember the beautiful retina display we were salivating over? Crystal clear picture making my iPhone 2G look like a 8bit console game? Well its been reported over at Engadget that 55% of new iPhone owners are experiencing a pale yellow spot in the bottom right corner, or even somewhere else on screen.
Even more worrying is that in the case of some iPhone 4's, which hand you hold it in determines the signal strength and subsequently if your call gets dropped or not! Apparently, due to the new design of the phone, holding it in your left palm will essentially bridge the 2 antennae, leading to a drop in calls. in the same poll 72% are experiencing a fluctuation in signal when they use their left hand (Not necessarily drop calls). Apparently, using the Apple "bumper" accessory makes everything a-ok again. I didn't believe this at first, but check out the video after the jump to see a demonstration from insanely great mac.
The figures may seem high, but don't fret. This poll was done in the most unscientific way possible, via the internet and Engadget. The numbers will be definitely WAY higher than what it really is, but the fact that the problems are present at all in a groundbreaking device can't help but worry me.While I don't think this problem is as common as they make it out to be, it's still a problem nonetheless.
Let's hope Apple fix the issues before the iPhone 4 lands on our shores.

Graphene is a form of pure carbon that was identified in 2004. It's essentially a one-atom-thick honeycomb lattice of carbon. Since the discovery of graphene, researchers at various institutions have been exploring possible uses for the substance. Palacios believes it will play a key role in future electronics. While frequency multiplication technology is used in current electronics, these systems generate noisy signals and require significant filtering and power, according to the MIT news service. The graphene chip uses only a single transistor and its output is clean, requiring no filtering. Palacios, the professor of EECS, said the technology could be commercialized in a year or two. The research is being funded by the MIT Institute for Soldier Nanotechnology and by the Interconnect Focus Center program, and is being followed both in the federal government and by private-sector chip companies. Looking ahead, MIT's researchers are trying to develop a way to grow graphene wafers suitable for use in electronic manufacturing.
Of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when I was in college. But it is was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later. Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something, your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart. Even when it leads you off the well worn path and that will make all the difference.
Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. You've got to find what you love. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.His absolutely inspiring talk ignited my mind with urdent inquiry. It lead me the precious moment to once again contemplate every strides of my life. Whenever life comes with a sort of setback and somehow depressed, those inspiration always again and again drive me back to the right road - Always stay hungry to desire to know more, always stay foolish to dare to dream the future.
