I think either AMD fans or AMD itself already crazy for there words that they can be easily seen at majority of IT review website or newspaper.But now,Advanced Micro Devices on Thursday launched what it called its "highest-performing CPUs" to date,AMD fans can finally stand up and says “We also have the fastest chip at all!"
Two new quad-core Phenom II processors, with 45nm technology(Finally up to date if compare with Intel already launches this technology in its processor at last year), were announced by AMD at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.It is:
AMD's Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition processor, which runs at 3.0GHz, is priced at US$275, while the Phenom II X4 920 processor, which runs at 2.8GHz, is sold for $235.
They will still continually using AM2+ socket and will be change into AM3 socket later.
Beside that, Phenom II is one part of the AMD new "Dragon" platform for the desktop PC.AMD new "Dragon" includes the Phenom II X4 Processor,ATI Radeon HD 4800 Graphic and AMD 7Series Mainboard Chipset.AMD is targeting that "Dragon" platform will provide a gaming and media-intensive desktops for the gamers and enthusiasts with the chips, which are also affordable enough for mainstream users looking for a good gaming system.

In addition,AMD also launches its netbook platform-Yukon,which prepared for a battle to Intel's Atom.In CES 2009,AMD finally release that their first final Yukon product.Yukon platform will includes two type of processor,which is Sempron and Athlon Neo.Both of them are using 65nanometer process,solo core,low profile design and fixed its size at 27*27mm with only 2.5mm height,which design will become more suitable as to build a more protable computer.
AMD Athlon Neo have support AMD PowerNow! power management technology,which can change the running speed and voltage of the processor according the system usage rate.Otherwise,it is still support AMD Digital Media XPress and includes SSE,SSE2,SSE3,MMX.
