Review:Dell XPS 420

As unexpected(feel lucky too~haha),I got a chance touch with one of Dell's High End Desktop PC - Dell XPS 420 which belongs to my friend.As usual,Dell XPS series PC can always name with a high cost,high performance pc.
Hence,it is no wonder about this pc got a high spec. too:
Intel Core2Quad Q6600 Processor
Intel Q33 Mainboard Nvidia Geforce 8600GTS 512MB Video Memory Seagate 320GB SATA2 Harddisk
Original Windows Vista Home Premium Support e-sata,IEEE 1394,Windows Vista Silde Show and come with 8 USB 2.0 port.

1)Take a look to XPS 420:

Front:

Back: It is quite strange,I can't find any PS/2 port on it?That's mean high end PC not need PS/2 port any more?

Side:with a XPS logo and a big hole which use to spread out the hot air which produce by processor.

XPS - Stand for High Performance PC.

Support to Intel VIIV technology too.

Dell Original Keyboard and come with a lot of driver CD


2)Inside of it:
It's look like hard to open?That's wrong~XPS 420 got a very personality design.We are only want to grab out its back silde plug(like the picture below)

Then the silde panel will "automatic" open~

We can simply change hardware or do a clean on XPS 420 by open it with this way.

Oops~Dell's technician don't know how to do a cable management?All wire and cable inside of XPS 420 are in disorder.

I believe all IT enthusiast already conscious of its mainboard design is totally different a lot with usual.ATX?BTX?I think both are wrong too,it is a special design for a better cooling system.It put the processor unit on the center with a huge fan,and this fan has become the main device for spread out the whole hot air which contain inside the pc to the front hole.(Processing like the arrow of picture below)


3)Extra function of XPS 420
XPS 420 support to the Windows Silde Show function.It got a small LCD screen on the top of its front silde which call XPS Mini View.

We can simply using this mini screen play our music which saved in computer or playing some small games without open the windows.Hmm,actually I think it just a useless extra function,haha~



4)Performance
I think it is needn't do a lot of benchmark,according its spec. ,it is surely not problem at all for doing any work or gaming. Actually I also lazy to do that too,haha :)
