Steve Jobs - Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish

Steve Jobs, one of the world's most influential people, chief executive officer and co-founder of Apple and of Pixar animation studios. Today, I am not once again intend to talk about his splendid achievements or his successful company, but sharing something extraordinary. He had been selected as the Stanford University commencement speaker in 2005. And no doubt, his inspiring lecture is what I desire to share with you all today.

Actually, I saw this video in two years before when I was in 17years old. At that time, I really couldn't understand what Steve Jobs was going to tell us. But something slowly began to dawn on me I gradually realized the essence of his lecture when I saw it again at TED.com recently.

Let's spend some precious moment to dig into his lecture:

Here are some inspiring sentences reveal in his lecture:

Of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when I was in college. But it is was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later. Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something, your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart. Even when it leads you off the well worn path and that will make all the difference.

Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. You've got to find what you love. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
His absolutely inspiring talk ignited my mind with urdent inquiry. It lead me the precious moment to once again contemplate every strides of my life. Whenever life comes with a sort of setback and somehow depressed, those inspiration always again and again drive me back to the right road - Always stay hungry to desire to know more, always stay foolish to dare to dream the future. Don't lose faith.

Wish all dude will get inspiring with this video as well. Remember, time is limited. Stay hungry. Stay foolish.

YOUTH'10 - For Youth,By Youth

Following the successful Youth'08,Youth'09, now, the Malaysia's Largest Youth Festival-Youth'10 descended upon our town once again!

There are some stories behind Youth'10...

On a rainy October Sunday in 2007, a few young Malaysians thought it would be good for friends and followers to meet up. Breakdancers, bands, student entrepreneurs...different groups to gather and showcase their passion. For these young Malaysians, it was the beginning of an idea.

The simple idea reached leaders of other youth communities. The idea also reached a group of major sponsors. And soon enough, the idea reached realization. Malaysia's First Youth Lifestyle Showcase, YOUTH'08 was held across 3 days in PWTC in January 10th, 2008,bringing together over 100 activities, and 21,000 youths from all walks of life under one roof. A platform only made possible by youths for youths. For these young Malaysians, it was the beginning of something real.

More communities, businesses, leaders, and government support came in for YOUTH'09. Larger place, higher energy, and on a much larger scale. This time, over 300 volunteers, street promotion teams, and youths themselves invited friend of friends, gathering 36,720 youths to PWTC in January 2009. For these young Malaysians, it was the beginning of a movement.

So what's in store for YOUTH'10? It begins with the fundamentals: How youths engage with brands, leaders, government and society. The festival has proven - that with this level of collaboration, anything can happen. This is why for YOUTH'10, high relevance additions - such as the Understanding Youth Conference for parents and "Marketing With Youth" Conference for businesses - are put in place to further help youths engage with brands, leaders and society.

After all, for Malaysian youths, this is the beginning of their future.

EYLN 2010 Experience Sharing

Well, I am continually scraping up the piece of my whole dream jigsaw puzzle. I undertook my wonderful three days with EYLN 2010 in UKM last week. Unforgettable and meaningful. Following the magnificent Youth Engagement Summit 2009, EYLN 2010 once again pierce through my mind with urdent passion.

The EYLN stand as Entrepreneurship & Youth - A Learning Network. Literally, this is one of the Malaysia Young Entrepreneur Conference for the purpose of gathering the whole nation youth who are feverishly interested in developing entrepreneurship. This year, EYLN 2010 had been organized by AIESEC UKM and set up the theme of "Green Entrepreneurship".

Ok, let's story start with some grumbles:
Day one, the starting time of the conference is between 7.30am and 8.30am. Hence, in order to meet up the time, I took the midnight train from my hometown, Kluang, all the way alone went straight to KL Central which estimated would be arrived there at 6.30am. Our "High Class" KTM really eager to provide us with better service, it delayed four hours throughout the journey. No doubt, I finally arrived at KL Central at 10.30am and KTM Komuter took me one hour again to get to National Unverisity of Malaysia(UKM) where the venue of conference.

Alright, that's it.

Yes, I am lated. I missed out the opening ceremony and the first talk.

This was the first scence appeared in my sight once I finally got into the conference's hall. After few minute, I ensconced myself in the hall's flatbed seat and started to enjoy the lecture. First, there was Nazril Idrus from LVG Consultants. As a professional financial fortress coach, he was using his fascinating tongue to convey the concept of financial intelligence. What is financial intelligence? In other words, that's mean how to manage the finance intelligently(Joke :P Haha). As a future potential entrepreneur, we must know how to effectively manage our money, debt and also property.

Especailly when we are going to make a debt, we need to accurately distinguish between the good debt and bad debt. For instance, university tuition fee is absolutely a good debt. We loan to fulfil our university courses and it's inevitably a good investment as it provides us with more professional knowledge as well as social skills which will be useful while we fully trap into competitive society. Reversely, making debt on buying luxurious gadgets will definitely makes no sense to put burden on our shoudler.

Secondly, Nazril Idrus gave out an impressive point of view. "Invest you money early" When you starting invest your money or saving your money on the younger age, you will take advantage on gaining more experience and capital.

After a lunch break, we warmly welcomed our next speaker: Puan Chan Cheong - the founder of Green Packet Inc.

As one of the Malaysia best entrepreneur, He was sharing his splendid and successful entrepreneurial experience to us. CC.Puan quoted an inspirable definition of entrepreneurship on the starting of his talk:

"Entrepreneurship is about those who dare to dream the dreams and are foolish enough to try and make their dreams come true"

In the next chapter of his talk, he shared with us some of his key of success:

"Patience and relationship are essential to develop entrepreneurship"
"When you are optimistic, don't over-estimated yourself, remember nothing is simple
"
"When you are discouraged, remember anything is possible
"

Next, there are something that I learnt from Harvestnet Sdn. Bhd..

Nyou Wei Fung, the business director of Harvestnet, said that: As a young generation, we must always "think out of the box", innovation and creativity are what essential to set off your business.

Let's convert Albert Einstein well-known formula E=MC2 into our personal character:

"Energetic=Mass x Creativity x Consistency"

Yes, when you get that three points and bring them together, you will become energetic to go toward building your dream.

Also, Sir Nyou cited out some keys which must be pay attention when we are going to propose a project paper.

The 6Ps key in project paper writing:
Preparation- Market research & viability study
Profile- Background of product,personal
Presentation- Susbtance & Form
Process- Ensure workflow & How to get there
Profitability- S.M.A.R.T
PR- Confidence & Follow up

Mr.Yeoh Chen Chow-Winner of Most Outstanding Youth of 2009(AYA Award).Product Manager of Jobstreet.com.

He stepped on the stage without any computer slide. He used an interactive way to talk about the essence of communication. First, communication is so important to our daily life. In order to success in either business market or society, we must know how to accurately master our language or body language to reveal your idea. Use communication to identify yourself. Only the particular or specific idea will make a deep impression to other people and make people more curious to know about you.

Matthias Gelber
-the greenest person of the world.

"All great achievements, begin with a belief." He said.

It's really come to the tough period that we must be responsible to our mother-Earth.
Our mother getting worse and worse because of our human being insatiable greed. He strongly appealed us-as a young generation, we must take action to this matter and immediately figure out the solution.

We were sharing our joyfulness in the last day.

Overall, here just a small fraction of experience sharing of the EYLN 2010, there were more boundless spirit that couldn't convey by limited words. What's more, I always hold the belief that the more people you meet, the more inspiration you get. Except just get learning from a sort of fiery speaker, enjoying the conversation with a sea of talent from different background was absolutely impressive. It's help you to expand your social network and you will be able to exposed yourself into wide-ranging of experience sharing.

Ultimately, pessimistic is no longer exist, if you really and fully explore your life, don't seal up yourself in just a little small box, go ahead and dare to do what you dream to do.

After delayed for a month in order to sort out their domestic customers, Apple is finally ready to ship iPad to international destinations. Eager users in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK can now look forward to their spanking new Apple iPad on Friday, May 28; according to a statement from the company:

Customers can pre-order all iPad models from Apple’s online store in all nine countries beginning on Monday, May 10. In the US, Apple has already sold over one million iPads and customers have downloaded over 12 million apps from the App Store, as well as over 1.5 million ebooks from the new iBookstore.

Yes,folks, if you are staying one of the short-listed countries, you will be able to pre-order your lovely iPad start from May 10.

Interestingly, the news release also mentioned that Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore would receive their iPad in July. Our country is still not in list – when come to Malaysia, Apple? - but the prospect of getting one in Singapore is very attractive indeed, wish the price will not push us down after the crazy conversion of currency. Guess this D.I.Y MicroSIM conversion might come in handy, after all.

DCIM Show 2010

Calling all shutterbugs! The annual Digital Camera, Imaging and Media Show (DCIM Show 2010) has descended upon us once again for the second year running. DCIM is by far the largest and most complete photography and imaging exhibition and promises to have something for everyone; whether you use DSLRs, Rangefinders, Medium Format behemoths or even Point and Shoot compacts, there will be eye candy for you to drool over.

DCIM also features all the mainstay brands in the world of digital and analogue photography such as pinnacle sponsors Canon and Panasonic, main sponsors Nikon, Leica and Samsung as well as other participating brands like Western Digital, Sigma and Lowepro to name a few.

More info and floor plan:

On top of having all the latest gear for you to test out before you succumb to the poison to take advantage of the amazing deals available, there will also be seminars and workshops held by well-known photographers to take your photography to the next level.

Coinciding with DCIM 2010, there will also be Velocity Angel Search 2010, a modeling competition where 10 fresh faces will be vying for the chance to adorn the covers of magazines such as T3 and Digital Camera Malaysia. See? There are even models to shoot with your brand new 70-200mm f2.8 L lens you just bought!

Wait a minute, where is Sony Cyber-Shot and Alpha booths? It's quite strange that the world-wide electronic chief missed up this magnificent festival. From my point of view, it's mainly because of the Sony Expo 2010 just successfully ended up last month, Sony (Malaysia) is hiding another stronger weapon - Sony Road Show will coming soon at whole Klang Valley (I will be in charge of this program at first, but I quit already ><)

Overall, DCIM 2010 will be held from 11am on the 14th to 16th of May 2010 at Hall 2 & 3, Mid Valley Exhibition Centre.

For more information, seminar schedules and full exhibitors listings, visit www.dcimshow.com
